Amit Gandhi
Chief Economic Advisor @Airbnb & Uber
Amit Gandhi is a Chief Economic Advisor to Airbnb and Uber as well as a Senior Fellow at the Wharton School of Business. He was previously Vice President and Technical Fellow at Airbnb, bringing extensive experience in economics, AI, and business strategy. Prior to Airbnb, he was a Professor at The Wharton School and served as Chief Economist for Microsoft Azure. He also spent nearly a decade as an Associate Professor at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He holds a PhD in Econometrics and an MBA from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business, as well as a BS in Mathematics from the University of Michigan. Throughout his career, he has contributed to research and leadership in platform economics, AI applications, and business analytics.

Sergio Varela
VP of Business and Operations @Intellias
Sergio Varela is a Chilean-US dual citizen with over 25 years of global experience across various industries in various areas. Sergio started his professional career, as a project engineer, in mining and then in the airline industry. In the US, he worked as a business consultant, where he learned the ins and outs of the consulting business. In 2005 he started at NAVTEQ, the leading digital mapping provider, which was acquired by NOKIA in 2007. As part of the acquisition process, Sergio was an Expatriate working in Germany for 4 years where his role as an Integrator was key to ensure a smooth integration. In 2011, Sergio’s division was divested and acquired by a group of Automotive OEMs renaming the company to HERE Technologies. In his last role at HERE, Sergio was responsible for all the engineering outsourcing operations, where he traveled the world scouting for software development companies that can help the company to scale capacity and reduce cost. Currently Sergio is a VP at Intellias, a 3,200 people organization providing cutting edge technology to companies around the world. He holds a BS and MS in Industrial Engineering from the University Catholic of Valparaiso in Chile.
